A little bit about me...
I graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida in 1997. For more than 25 years, I have enjoyed my career as a school psychologist. I am certified as a school psychologist by the North Carolina Department of Instruction (DPI), and also a Licensed Psychological Associate in North Carolina. Currently, I am a member of the North Carolina School Psychology Association and the National Association of School Psychologists. My career began with an internship in Broward County, Florida during the 1996-97 school year. I moved to North Carolina in 1997 after accepting a position with a rural school district, Vance County Schools. In 1998, I was hired by Wake County Public Schools.
For the 2022-23 school year, I am assigned to serve two schools in Wake County: Carver Elementary and Knightdale Elementary. Both schools are in the process of MTSS implementation. I am an active member of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) team and have participated in specialized training in TBI assessment provided by DPI. I have also been a member of the Autism Team and am trained to administer and interpret specialized instruments including the ADOS and the PEP-3. I have extensive experience serving children of all ages, from preschoolers to high school. The field of school psychology is dynamic which offers ongoing opportunities for professional growth, and I look forward to another successful school year.
